Frederick William I chose Potsdam as a hunting lodge in the seventeenth century. Later it became residence of the Prussian royal family. Federico II "The Great", will be in charge from 1745 to beautify the city with palaces and gardens.
We begin our tour of the most impressive of all, the Sanssouci Palace. Strolling through the gardens will tell you the whole story of this enlightened king, will see his grave and we'll tell you the secrets hidden in the architecture. We will pass by the Church of Peace, and reach the city center. Here we discover the Dutch Quarter, the Soviet Graveyard and Nauen Gate.
We will continue to visit the Cecilienhof Palace. Here we understand the importance of Potsdam in World War II and how Stalin, Churchill and Truman, the big three, divided Germany during the Potsdam Conference held in the same place.
Finally, crossing the banks of the Havel River and arrive in Berlin, across the Glienicke Bridge, better known as the Bridge of Spies. Our guides will tell their story in Spanish.
