You can venture up to the top of the large glass dome, the cupola, and terrace which crowns the top of the Reichstag, the seat of the German parliament, and enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view of neighbouring districts. You can do so for free but pre-registration is required. An audio guide is available and there is also a restaurant on the terrace. The impressive building was opened in 1894 and witnessed a great deal of significant history, particularly during the Nazi and Cold War periods and unification. Entry is every quarter of an hour and last admission is 10pm. The building is open from 8am to midnight.
