Overview of the tour in Madrid

The Escorial Monastery was built as a monument to the victory of Spain over the French at the Battle of San Quentin. Some people call its monumental architecture the eighth wonder of the world. Many rulers of the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties of the last five centuries are buried there.
I will introduce you to the amazing history of the construction of the monastery, the first architect of which was the disciple of Michelangelo - Juan Batista de Toledo, and it is likely that the origin of its construction drawings is related to the temple of Solomon of ancient Jerusalem.

In addition to the monumental architecture, the Escorial Monastery is famous for its huge collection of art. Here are located numerous paintings of the great artists of the XV-XVII centuries: Titian, El Greco, Veronese, Tintoretto, Bosch, and Velasquez.
Next, we will be transported with you to the twentieth century and visit the magnificent monumental complex "Valley of the Fallen." Its construction began immediately after the end of the civil war on the orders of the dictator Franco as a sign of reconciliation.
The elements of the complex are located inside and on the surface of the stone rock.
