Overview of the tour in Madrid

Among other reasons, UNESCO has valued the Retiro-Prado axis as the perfect prototype of an urban cultural landscape. Its 200 wooded hectares explain the historical evolution of the city since the 16th century, and they were also the first in the world to be opened to public use. This environment has served as inspiration for other tours in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Peru or Cuba.

This Landscape of Light is the first property to hold such a distinction in the city of Madrid, and the fifth in the Community. A special and unique feature is the incorporation of science into the urban landscape of the area with the creation of the Cabinet and Academy of Natural Sciences.

We start our visit at the Independence Gate of the Retiro Park. We will access the Park, where we will explain its transformation to the current public park, and we will walk through the most emblematic places.

After a walk, we will leave the park towards Paseo del Prado. There, we will place ourselves in strategic places, from which the guide will transmit us the history and curiosities that have happened in one of the best-known Walks in the world.

The crisis caused by the coronavirus has forced all businesses to transform their products and services in order to offer the highest levels of safety, responsibility and quality to their customers.

Therefore, in accordance with state and regional regulations, from Arkeo Tour® we have implemented 6 essential and mandatory measures in all our activities:

1) Our guided tours are carried out only with small groups (maximum 25 people including the guide). In this way we achieve a better organization and management of the group, and a separation of at least 2 meters between each person.

2) Our itineraries have been designed to avoid possible crowds and escape from confined spaces. In addition, they are one-way routes to avoid crossing with other groups. Our guides coordinate live to share information on less crowded itineraries.

3) All our guides have been trained in health risk prevention and the fight against coronavirus. The person in charge of the guides and the person in charge of customer service make up the Arkeo Tour® risk management committee and carry out a daily monitoring of the safety measures.

4) In all our guided tours we use voice transmission and amplification equipment. In this way, we guarantee the highest quality in the guide's explanations and we can maintain a safe distance between group members.

5) Our team uses approved masks in all our activities and is carried out in daily control of the temperature of each of the guides. Likewise, we will have hydroalcoholic gel for the use of all our users.

6) We have digitized the entire reservation service, thus avoiding the transfer of documents between people. The reservation confirmation can be downloaded from any mobile phone to show the guide at the beginning of the visit. The sending of brochures and information is now also done completely telematically.
