Overview of the tour in Fort-de-France

Your day begins at Domaine de La Pagerie, the childhood home of Josephine de Beauharnais, wife of Napoleon Bonaparte and first Empress of France. As you walk through the old sugar plantation, you will visit a small museum and see period documents, paintings and furniture. At the Trois-Rivières distillery, you will learn the history of three centuries behind the estate while tasting its famous white and black rums. Then, sit down at the Chez EVELYNE restaurant, where you can enjoy an exceptional Creole meal consisting of spicy donuts, chicken curry, fresh fish, coconut flan, regional wines and coffee. After lunch, enjoy an extra hour to shop. A visit to the Anse d'Arlet small fishing village will perhaps welcome you with authentic souvenirs, like handmade ceramics created by local artisans. Along the road that will take you back to the harbor, enjoy a picturesque view on the village of Anses d'Arlet, the monument to slaves Anse Cafard and the imposing Diamond Rock.
