MARCO Museum of Contemporary Art
This museum can be considered one of the best museums of contemporary art in Spain. Meanwhile, it does not have a permanent collection: the museum works exclusively on temporary exhibitions. The museum is located in the heart of the commercial quarter of the city, in the pedestrian area of Calle Principe. The building, completed in 1880, was initially planned to simply house prison cells, but later a court with a small guardhouse began to operate here. Entrance fee: 5 euros.
Cies Islands
This amazing archipelago is located opposite the coast of Pontevedra and the mouth of the Vigo River. It was declared a nature reserve in 1980, and since 2002, its territory has included the National Park "Atlantic Islands of Galicia". But it is not only nature lovers who are attracted to the islands: in February 2007, the British Guardian declared Rodas Beach on Monte Agudo the best beach in the world. To visit Cies, you need to go by ferry (a ferry ticket costs about 16 euros round trip).
