Overview of the tour in Kathmandu
Kathmandu contains 7 monuments & historic sites, recognized by UNESCO. These monument zones are the Durbar squares of the 3 cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, & the religious temples of Swoyambhu, Bouddha, Pashupati, & Changunarayan.
Pashupati Temple: located on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River & holy site for Hindu devotees.
Swoyambhu Temple: Often referred to as the Monkey Temple, is approx. 2600 years old Buddhist Stupa.
Boudha: Considered one of the largest Stupas in the world, which contains the relics & remains of Buddha. Patan Durbar Square: Located in Lalitpur, showcases genuine art, architecture, culture, & heritage.
Kathmandu Durbar Square: A pleasant site to visit due to its historical significance, architecture, & bustling bazaars. Bhaktapur Durbar Square: Showcases the rich cultural heritage of Nepal & filled with shrines, statues, & courtyards. Changunarayan Temple: One of the oldest temples in Nepal, located near Bhaktapur.
Outline Itinerary:
Our guide & driver will pick you up from your pick-up point & your guided sightseeing tour starts. You will have a lunch break between the tour & you will be escorted to your hotel in the late afternoon.
