Overview
Discover the side of Skopje that doesn't make it onto the postcards. This experience is about the flavors that define our daily life found in venues that have stood the test of time. To keep it intimate, the tour is limited to 6 guests.
This is a culinary journey through four iconic institutions. Each one is older than I am, and I am not exactly young anymore! We will meet at the St. Clement Cathedral where I will set the scene with a bit of history before we dive into the food.
We begin with the ritual of morning coffee at one of Skopje’s oldest cafés. Then we immerse ourselves in the vibrant chaos of the farmer’s market to hunt down the perfect, flaky burek hidden inside a tiny bakery.
From there we sit down for traditional kebapchinja, enjoying these signature meat rolls the local way with warm bread, fresh onions, and a touch of spicy pepper. It is a smoky, simple, and unforgettable meal.
We finish at the city’s oldest confectionery for boza and sweets. It is a nostalgic family-run spot where recipes haven’t changed in generations.
This isn’t a checklist of landmarks. It is a taste of Skopje’s soul. Come as a tourist, leave as a friend.
P.S. Bring an appetite. Seriously!

Our Guides
On arrival
We’ll meet at the fountain in front of Skopje's main church, the Archbishop Cathedral „St. Clement of Ohrid”. If you can’t find it, just ask for ‘Soborna’ - everyone knows it. I’ll arrive 5 minutes before the tour begins and wait another 5 for everyone to gather. You’ll recognize me by my Skopje-themed hoodie and a big smile.
Things to note
The treats are on me and usually cost around 5-6 euros per person, just to give you an idea if you’d like to add a little extra to your tip. Of course, it’s completely optional - only if you truly enjoyed the tour!
