Overview

Sintra is a very special location near Lisbon. And you read everywhere that is a must-see. But why? Why is it so special? Why does it have two Unesco protections? Why does it look like an 18th-century village?
Allow me to storytell you Sintra!

I'm not going to overwhelm you with history details that you're going to forget after 5 m. I'll rather tell you a story about Sintra and how it changed and how it was shaped by history!

I know Sintra since young and grow up during the holidays in the streets of Sintra for many years. And I love its stories and history. I'm a caring calm person with a perspective of tourism very different from what is usually done.

The walk starts near the train station and ends at the Palace of Seteais, near Quinta da Regaleira. On the way, we pass and stop in:

The municipal center
Queijadas da Sapa
The Historical Center
The National Palace of Sintra
Regaleira Palace
The Seteais Palace

We will see, if the weather allows, the Moorish Castle, the coastline, and even the iconic Pena Palace from a very special viewpoint.
It's a beautiful 2h walk with a lot of interesting and beautiful stops for photos and stories.

On arrival

The easiest way to travel to Sintra is by train. The meeting point is a 2m walk from the train station of Sintra, with a beautiful viewpoint of the village and the mountain. I'm a red hair and I'll be with a blue umbrella waiting for you.

Things to note

The walk is of easy difficulty but please keep in mind that there's a part where we need to go through a road that a certain inclination and with the typical sliding side walks of Lisbon. The best shoes need to be soft to have better adherence to the road ;)

Sintra has a microclimat so it can get cold in the afternoon. You can bring a light jacket that fits in your backpack.

Don't forget sunscreen, good spirit and curiosity :)
