Overview
Enter the heart of Mexico City, a guided tour that reveals the cultural, architectural, and archaeological richness of the most emblematic historic center of the country. This tour takes you through the main points of interest of the capital's Zócalo, starting with the archaeological site of the Templo Mayor, ancient seat of Mexica power, one of the most important cultures of pre-Hispanic Mexico. Then, we will explore the Metropolitan Cathedral, a baroque construction and symbol of Spanish colonization, built on the ruins of Tenochtitlan.
We will continue through colonial buildings such as the Temple of Santo Domingo, the seat of the Dominican order. Afterwards, we will walk along the busy Madero Street where we will stop to observe the Casa de los Azulejos, one of the most remarkable palaces of the XVIII century. We will also visit the Exconvent of San Francisco de Asis, a former Franciscan monastery and home of the most important school for indigenous people. We will finish our tour at the Alameda Central, in front of the Palacio de Bellas Artes, where we will be able to appreciate its architecture and the history of its construction.
