Old Lisbon Tour

These neighbourhoods have existed for almost a thousand years and have shaped the very essence of Lisbon, along with its people, in a centuries' old intricate process. From wars, to invasions and sieges, mass migrations and mass killings, dictatorships and bloodless revolutions. These places still bear the marks of those times, old or new. It's the Lisbon that normally doesn't come in the postcards, off the beaten track, the Lisbon that I show my friends every time I get the opportunity.

So the main ingredients of an ideal tour, for me, would be a big amount of history with a great deal of sightseeing, urban exploring, eating and drinking, getting to know Lisbon's people and their daily lives, the best way to introduce you to the city and our culture. After a nice long walk around the old neighborhood, we can have dinner at a fado house, where they sing fado all night and serve the best traditional food.
