Overview of the tour in Lisbon

Our Off the Beaten Track Free Tour (Mouraria & Graça) takes you through two of Lisbon's most popular districts. In this 2-and-a-half-hour tour, you will get lost in the multiculturalism of Mouraria and the viewpoints of Graça.

We begin our Off the Beaten Track Free Tour (Mouraria & Graça) at Praça da Figueira and enter Mouraria at Largo Trigueiros, where we will show you how immigrants from all over the world have transformed this decaying neighborhood into a vibrant, multicultural place. We will discover the origins of Fado and what inspired us to create this heartfelt, melancholic music.

As we climb the hill we will discover one of Lisbon's best-kept secrets, the Jardim da Cerca Graça, an oasis hidden in the tangled streets of Lisbon. We have now reached Miradouro Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen. As the church bells echo behind you, let yourself be carried away by this sweeping view of Lisbon.

There is still time to visit the Church of São Vicente and the National Pantheon. Our Off the Beaten Track Free Tour (Mouraria & Graça) is an original, unprecedented tour that will leave you to fill your heart.

This activity includes:

  • Jardim da Cerca da Graça
  • National Pantheon
  • Mouraria
  • Church of São Vicente de Fora
  • Vila Sousa
  • Convento do Beato
  • Mercado de Santa Clara
  • Casa Medieval do Largo da Achada
  • The Origin of Fado

Meeting point

Praça da Figueira | Statue of King John I on a Horse

On arrival

Find us next to the statue of King John I on a Horse at Praça da Figueira. If you see a McDonal's you NOT in the right square but close.
We are carrying dark blue umbrellas with yellow letters.
The Mouraria Hill is a bit steep so do bring comfortable shoes. Water is also recommended.

Groups of 7 or more are always welcome. In this case, we require a prepayment of €10 per adult (12 years old or more). This principle results from the need to protect and value the level of quality and dedication that we demand from our local Take Lisboa guides.

Things to note

This tour is not wheelchair-friendly (unfortunately, most of Lisbon isn't)

Free Cancellation

You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
