In the heart of Chongqing‘s Jiulongpo District, inside the ancient-style Ba Kingdom Park, there exists a doorway to another time. Step through the vermilion gates of Huayan Hall, and the modern city fades away, replaced by the flicker of palace lanterns and the strains of ancient bronze bells. This is Li Yan Ba Guo — a full-immersion “cultural banquet show” that has become one of Chongqing’s most sought-after experiences since its debut in May 2024.
The 90-minute feast is a seamless fusion of dining and performance. As you savor an eight-course royal Sichuan banquet, each dish is timed to coincide with a specific performance — a multi-sensory experience where food and art become one. The menu reads like a history book: “Jianjian Tieluo” (Crispy Lamb Chops) honors the loyalty of General Ba Manzi; “Guifei Black Tiger Shrimp” recalls the legendary lychee delivery route; and the signature Hua Li Yan Ji Dou Hua — a silky chicken-based soup — has earned a spot on the “Yu Wei 360 Bowls” culinary list.
