Our Guides
On arrival
MEETING POINT – Brașov Free Tour:
Meet at the corner by Modarom Building, the distinctive seven-storey round building located at the intersection of Strada Republicii and Bulevardul Eroilor (No. 17), directly in front of the Banca Transilvania entrance.
Your guide will be easy to spot: will have a telescopic flagpole with multiple flags.
WHY THIS LOCATION MATTERS:
This meeting point sits at a crossroads of Brașov’s layered history:
*Medieval era – Site of the former Purzengasse Gate, once the largest and oldest entrance into the fortified city of Kronstadt.
*19th century – Location of the elegant Kertsch Villa, reflecting the city’s bourgeois expansion.
*Communist period – The present-day Modarom building, a striking example of late socialist postmodern architecture.
*Modern history – A key gathering point during the anti-communist protests of 1987 and 1989.
