Berlin Craft Beer Festival 2016

There’s been a kind of beer-renaissance in recent years, a craft beer revolution if you will, whereby the beer scene, particularly in Europe and America, has seen a huge increase in the number of local small-brewery-made varieties of beer enter the domain of big breweries.

Berlin is no different and the Berlin Craft Beer Festival 2016, taking place in the funky RAW Gelande complex in Friedrichshain on July 29th & 30th, is a testament to the vibrant Berlin craft beer scene these days. There will be over 20 local brewers on site over the Friday & Saturday, serving their latest beers and giving you a unique insight to each of their brews.

With over 100 different beers to sample, including Lemondrop Pale Ale which is exclusive to the festival and included on entry, as well as specials, you will be spoiled for choice. But this festival, which is the official wrap party of Berlin Beer week, isn’t just for the beer-nerds. The east side of the RAW- Gelande complex, a former train-repair-yard, abandoned and since reclaimed to house bars, clubs, galleries and flea markets, will include plenty of seating and comfortable chill out areas, with delicious street food, live music & DJs to create a perfect atmosphere for enjoying a slice of authentic Berliner life.

And if you are Berlin-bound before or after the festival, fear not dear traveller, as you can easily delve into the craft beer scene while in Berlin and we highly recommend the city’s very first craft beer bar Hopfenreich - Craft Beer Bar Berlin in Wrangelkiez in Kreuzberg, as well as the IPA Bar on Karl-Marx-Straße in Neukölln.

“Prost” & happy travels.
