Free Tour: Zurich with Women's Voice

We start at Paradeplatz, Zurich's financial heart, with relevant Swiss women, historical and contemporary. We visit Fraumünster, with abbesses whose power lasted almost seven centuries, and Fraumünster Society, which keeps their legacy alive. From Münsterbrücke we talk about the Frauenbad, Regula, patron saint of Zurich and the witch hunts. In Niederdorf we will meet Emmy Ball-Hennings and Sophie Taeuber-Arp, pioneers of Dadaism at the Cabaret Voltaire.

From Rathausbrücke we explore the role of women in Swiss politics. We visit Barbara Schaufelberger's printing house and pass a legalized brothel to reflect on sex work. We meet Hedwig ab Burghalden, who prevented the siege of Zurich. In Lindenhof, in front of Zurich's main university campuses. We remember Marie Heim-Vögtlin, the first Swiss physician, and Mileva Maric, a physicist and mathematician who played a key role in Einstein's work.

We will walk along Augustinergasse, the most beautiful street in Zurich and in front of the residence of Johanna Spyri, author of Heidi. We end at the HB Zurich, where Helvetia symbolizes Swiss unity. We will close under the protective angel of Niki de Saint-Phalle, who gives strength and color to our farewell.
