Overview
Discover Ueno Park like never before. In this tour of almost three hours we will explore temples, statues, museums and corners full of history, where traditional and modern Japan meet and dialogue.
I am Fernando, a graduate in History and resident in Japan for several years. I combine academic rigor with a clear and close narrative to help you understand not only the historical facts, but also the people, ideas and transformations that shaped today's Japan.
We will visit landmarks such as the Tokyo National Museum, the Kaneiji Temple dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Black Gate, the Hanazono Shrine, the Kyomizu Kannon-dō and Lake Shinobazu, among others. Each space holds stories of wars, reconstructions, changes of era and legends that marked the Japanese spirit.
During the walk we will talk about art, religion, modernization and popular culture, while enjoying one of the most symbolic and beautiful parks in Tokyo.
