Shinjuku After Dark: Izakaya, Golden Gai & Local Life Free Tour
Overview
We’ll explore some of Shinjuku’s most iconic nightlife areas, including Omoide Yokocho, Kabukicho and Golden Gai. Along the way, I’ll share stories about Tokyo’s nightlife, Japanese drinking culture and everyday life in the city.
We’ll then head into a local izakaya, where you can enjoy Japanese food and drinks while getting to know your guide and fellow travelers. This is more than a sightseeing tour — it’s an opportunity to experience Shinjuku the way locals do.
Whether you’re visiting Tokyo for the first time or want to see a different side of the city, I’ll help you discover places you might not find on your own.
The tour is free and tip-based. Guests are responsible for their own food and drinks, and are expected to cover the guide’s food and drinks during the meal as well.

On arrival
Please meet me in front of **BLUE ELEPHANT, directly underneath the Giant 3D Cat at Shinjuku East Exit**.
The Giant 3D Cat is located above Cross Shinjuku Vision, just outside Shinjuku Station East Exit. BLUE ELEPHANT is directly underneath the Giant 3D Cat, making it an easy landmark to find.
I will be waiting in front of BLUE ELEPHANT before the tour starts and will send you a message before the tour.

Things to note
This is a free walking tour. Guests are responsible for their own food and drinks during the tour.
As part of the experience, I will also join you for the meal and drinks. Guests are expected to cover the cost of the guide’s food and drinks as well.
At the end of the tour, a tip for the guide is also strongly appreciated as this is a tip-based free tour.
