Shibuya: From Urban Chaos to the Sacred Forest - Free Tour in English
Overview
We start at the statue of Hachiko, a symbol of loyalty that moved all of Japan and still gathers millions of people every day.
From there we crossed the Scramble Crossing, where up to 3,000 people cross at the same time without colliding.
We enter Nonbei Yokocho, the alley of drunks, a corner of the Showa era with more than 40 small bars that survived the real estate boom of the 80s.
We continued through Shibuya Yokocho, a 100-meter passage with 19 food stalls representing the different regions of Japan.
We went up to the rooftop of Miyashita Park to enjoy a panoramic view of Shibuya, where a park, fashion stores and a climbing wall coexist in a single building.
We will then descend down Cat Street and end at the Meiji Shrine, a forest of 100,000 trees planted just 100 years ago in the heart of Tokyo. An ending that contrasts with all the above: from urban chaos to sacred silence.
