Overview

Step into a magical side of Tokyo on this 2-hour walking tour through Koganei City, the neighborhood where Studio Ghibli is located. Led by Yusuke, a resident, you'll discover a peaceful, suburban atmosphere away from the city bustle.

The adventure immediately takes you past the famed Ghibli Studio buildings, offering a unique glimpse of the creative heart of animation (viewed from outside). We will then explore local historical sites, including a small local shrine.

The tour culminates at the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architecture Museum, a treasure trove of historical Japanese buildings relocated and preserved here. Inside, you will see captivating structures like a Japanese-style mansion and a charming old store, which inspired one of Ghibli's movies, Spirited Away.

Your tour ends at the museum, giving you ample time to explore the collection of charming old houses and architecture. This is the ultimate walking experience for Ghibli fans and anyone seeking a genuine taste of Tokyo's preserved history and culture.

Note: The Studio Ghibli buildings are NOT the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka City and are not tourist attractions. Please respect their privacy; we just walk by them quietly.
