Asakusa Food Tour with a Local
Overview
This is a private-style experience — your group will never be mixed with other guests. Traveling solo, as a couple, with family, or friends — I'll adjust the tour to what interests you most.
Love food? We'll explore Asakusa's best local bites. Interested in culture? We'll visit Kaminarimon Gate, Nakamise, and Senso-ji Temple. Not into temples? No problem — we'll just eat, drink, and explore.
Foods we may try: unagi onigiri, ningyo-yaki, melon pan, matcha, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, strawberry daifuku, menchi-katsu, sushi, and more.
The experience is flexible — think of it as exploring Asakusa with a Japanese friend. I'm also practicing my English, so the atmosphere is relaxed and conversational.
Food and drinks are paid by guests separately. You're welcome to cover my portion if you'd like to share. Tips are appreciated but optional.

On arrival
Meet me in front of the famous Kaminarimon Gate (Thunder Gate) in Asakusa. There is a small police box in front of the gate and I'll be standing near there. I'll send you a photo on the day! The gate is a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station (Tokyo Metro Ginza Line / Toei Asakusa Line, Exit 1). Feel free to message me if you have any trouble finding me!
Things to note
This is a free walking tour. Guests are responsible for their own food and drinks during the tour.
As part of the experience, I will also join you for the meal and drinks. Guests are expected to cover the cost of the guide’s food and drinks as well.
A tip for the guide is also appreciated at the end of the tour.
Please wear comfortable shoes, as the tour involves walking. The tour takes place mainly outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
Cancellation policy
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
