- Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses – the Andean sun can be strong, even on cloudy days
- Comfortable walking shoes with good grip – waterproof hiking boots or rubber boots are recommended
- Gloves, scarf, and a rain poncho – weather conditions in the páramo can change quickly
- Warm clothing – temperatures at Hacienda Hipolongo Cruz de Mayo can drop significantly, especially in the evenings
- Binoculars (optional) – ideal for spotting eagles, rabbits, and other wildlife of the páramo
- Extra cash – for personal purchases, souvenirs, or additional snacks and drinks
