Located in Sawai Madhopur district, a little over 100 km from the capital of the state Jaipur, the fort now stands as part of an enchanting landscape and speaks of a fascinating history. The Great Emperor Akbar once attempted to gain control over this fort but little did he know that tigers would rule here in the not so far future. With over 200 species of birds and various marsh water crocodiles, the fort is now part of the protected wildlife heaven called the Ranthambore National Park. The park is home to the national animal of India, the tiger and gives a unique opportunity to see the magnificent beast in a natural environment.
