The journey begins in the narrow streets of Shahjahanabad(Old Delhi), where time seems to move slowly in the early hours. As we pass the grand walls of the Red Fort, we make our way to the peaceful banks of the Yamuna at Nigambodh Ghat. Here, amidst quiet rituals and the gentle sound of prayers, one can sense the city’s connection to the sacred. Migratory birds circle above the water, adding a touch of peace to the scene.
Despite its struggles, the Yamuna remains a revered goddess to her devotees, symbolising both purity and endurance. The journey concludes with the famous Jama Masjid rising in the distance, surrounded by the busy streets of Old Delhi. This route captures the contrasts that define Old Delhi.
