Overview

Discover the fascinating history of Cusco on this free walking tour through the heart of the former Inca capital. Learn how the city evolved from the center of the Inca Empire into an important colonial city while preserving the foundations that still define it today.

We begin at Plaza de Armas and continue to Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), one of the most significant religious and astronomical centers of the Inca world. Along the way, we visit Cusi Cancha and the Palace of Inca Roca to understand Inca architecture, political organization, and advanced stonework.

In the neighborhood of San Blas, explore traditional streets and panoramic viewpoints while learning about Andean traditions that still influence daily life.

The tour concludes near the colonial Sapantiana aqueduct, an impressive example of colonial engineering.

Led by a licensed local guide from Cusco, this experience offers a professional and engaging introduction to the city’s history and cultural identity. The tour is interactive and welcoming, with time for questions and discussion throughout the walk.
