Overview of the tour in Cordoba

The Shining City is World Heritage from 2018, its story begins with the designation of Abd al-Rahman III as the first caliph of Córdoba. Aiming to show the rest of the world his new status, he ordered the construction of a palatial city eight kilometres away from the capital.

We will meet first-hand the Umayyad site and the Medina Azahara Museum, where the vision of the complex will be completed, and we’ll discover, for example, the famous Cervatillo. Become the kings, queens and ambassadors who came to this place to admire its splendour.

On arrival

- Medina Azahara is located 6 kilometres from the center of Córdoba. You have to take a bus to go to Medina Azahara; there is one which goes at 10:15 am. The meeting point is at Cruz Roja roundabout next to Eurostars Palace Hotel.

- You should be at the bus stop fifteen minutes before the bus arrival time (10:00 am).

- To get into the bus you will need to talk with one of our staff who is there (he has the tickets).

- The bus is yellow with something written in red which says “madinat al-zahara”. At 10:15 am the bus will leave the bus stop, it will take 15 minutes approximately to get Medina Azahara.

- When you get off the bus the tour guide will be waiting for you with an orange placard which says “Guided Tour Medina Azahara” “Córdoba a Pie”.
