Overview of the tour in Cairo
At 8:00 am you will meet your professional Egyptologist private tour guide in the lobby of your hotel and travel via modern a/c van to the Giza plateau to explore around the Great Pyramid of Cheops (the only remaining of the seven wonders of the ancient world) and the pyramids of his successors (Chephren and Mycerinus), then to the panorama area in the desert to have a view of the three pyramids together and take unforgettable pictures with your guide's help. From the plateau, you'll go to visit the Valley Temple of King Chephren and wonder at the Great Sphinx. After that, you will have lunch in a local restaurant before visiting the area of Coptic Old Cairo to see the remains of the Roman Fortress of Babylon and the Hanging Church of Virgin Mary (one of the oldest churches of the world). After that, you will visit the Citadel of Saladin with its Middle Ages style and go inside the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Aly Pasha that represents the Ottoman style of architecture and dominates the Cairo skyline with its high minarets and domes. At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel.
