Overview

Perfect for your Day 1 introduction or final farewell to Beijing—start with a stunning bird’s-eye view of history and the future coexisting in one frame.

Discover Beijing's sharpest contrasts:
• Imperial Order vs. Folk Vitality
• Peaceful Hutongs vs. Vibrant Hangouts

Itinerary
• Jingshan Park: Explore a historic former imperial garden.
• Emperor’s Last Stand: Uncover the final hours of the last Ming Emperor.
• Jingshan Peak: Climb for panoramic views of the Forbidden City & Central Axis.
• Hidden Hutong: Step into authentic neighborhood life.
• Imperial Icehouse: Reveal how emperors beat the summer heat.
• Lotus Market: Watch or join locals playing music & traditional games (Best at 19:00 in Summer).
• Shichahai Lake: Stroll the lakeshore where vibrant life thrives.

Along the way, we’ll uncover fascinating stories from ancient to modern—including a tragic royal suicide, front-door codes revealing family status, courtyard life without toilets, royal rules, folktales, religion, architecture, and dozens more!

We end right in the heart of Beijing's nightlife! Just a 5-10 min walk to grab Peking duck, Beijing hotpot, and hit Beihai Park, Drum & Bell Towers, and Nanluoguxiang Alley.

Meeting point

Jingshan Park(South Gate)

On arrival

I’ll be greeting you right outside the South Gate of Jingshan Park (directly across the street from the Forbidden City’s North Exit). Just look for me holding a sign that says "M&M LOCALFLOW"!

To ensure we can start our journey without missing any highlights, please arrive 5–10 minutes early. Here are the transportation instructions:

Traffic in central Beijing can be unpredictable, with frequent congestion and occasional road closures. We highly recommend leaving a little earlier to avoid rushing.

• Metro (Recommended)
Metro is your best option for reliable travel times. Take Line 8 to National Art Museum Station (Chinese: 美术馆站). From there, it’s a 1 km walk to the South Gate.
• Taxi / Didi
Vehicles cannot drop passengers directly at the meeting point or the immediate surrounding streets. Please set "Beijing Shudu Hotel" (Chinese: 北京蜀都宾馆) as your destination instead. It is a 500-meter walk from there.
• On Foot
The easiest option if you are already staying nearby.

You are also welcome to add my WhatsApp for the exact location and transport recommendations before the tour.

Things to note

• Jingshan Park Tickets
Entry (10 RMB/person) is at your own expense. We will send you detailed instructions after your booking. We've got you covered!

• Smart Pacing
100% pure essence, zero wasted steps. We pack a masterfully curated, high-density narrative into 1 hour 50 mins, delivering maximum insight with minimum fatigue.

• Small-Group Exclusivity
We intentionally keep our groups small to ensure a fun, exclusive vibe. We kindly ask you to notify us as soon as possible if your plans change. This helps us manage the schedule effectively and keeps these limited spots available for others.

• Logistics (Very Important)
Traffic in central Beijing is highly unpredictable. Please plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early to ensure a smooth, on-time start. You are also welcome to add my WhatsApp for the exact meeting location and personalized transport recommendations before the tour.

• Families & Mobility
While families are warmly welcome, please note this tour involves gentle climbing steps at Jingshan Peak. It is best suited for ages 4+; strollers are not recommended due to historic uneven paths.

How can the tour be free?

Our concept is simple — there is no set price. Instead, you tip your guide at the end of the tour whatever amount feels right to you. Typically, guests give between $10 to €50, depending on their satisfaction and budget.

Most guides accept cash or card payments, or you can do it via our app.
