Overview

This tour is ideal for travelers who wish to gain a thorough understanding of Chinese traditional culture, and deeper insight into philosophy and beliefs.

This compact walking loop begins at the vibrant Lama Temple, one of Beijing's most active Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, where the air is thick with sandalwood incense and worshippers spin prayer wheels beneath golden rooftops. The temple's towering Maitreya Buddha statue and ornate halls make it a spiritual highlight not to be missed.

From there, it continues to the historic Confucius Temple and Imperial College, a serene complex of ancient courtyards filled with stone steles inscribed with the names of scholars who passed the imperial exams centuries ago.

The walk then ends in Wudaoying Hutong, a narrow lane that has been transformed from a quiet residential alley into a lively stretch of trendy boutiques, artisan coffee shops, craft beer bars, and colorful street murals.

This short but rewarding walk offers a fascinating contrast between spiritual devotion, academic heritage, and modern urban culture.
