Baeza Free Walking Tour

Overview of the tour in Baeza

This is one of the main opportunities to take a tour of the charming village of Baeza in English. Through the different points, the visitor will have a chance to discover how this small town has developed over the course of history and became one of the major references within the Spanish Renaissance during the 16th century thanks to the investment of wealthy gentlemen who contributed to defining this true picturesque city with magnificent monuments and important institutions that show us what great economic power the city reached at that time. This tour will consist of the following steps:

1. Tower of Aliatares.
2. Paseo de la Constitución (Constitution Fountain, Alhondiga, Casas Consistoriales Bajas and Triumph Fountain)
3. Ancient University of Baeza.
4. Santa Cruz Square (Palace of Jabalquinto and Church of Santa Cruz ).
5. Santa María Square (Cathedral, Santa María Fountain, Casas Consistoriales Altas and Seminary of San Felipe Neri).
6. Guadalquivir's Valley Lookout Spot.
7. Cathedral Alleways.
8. Lions / Populo Square (Lions Fountain, Old Butchery, Jaén's Gate, Villalar Arch and Civil Audience building)

IMPORTANT: There must be at least 5 assistants on the tour.

On arrival

The best way to find me is by getting to Plaza de España (close to Restaurant Knovas, right in front of Aliatares Tower) 5 minutes before the tour gets started. You will find me there wearing a white jacket with a Vivatia Tours logo on it and with a big smile upon my face!!!

Things to note

In case you come to Baeza by car, your best choices in order to park somewhere not so far away from the meeting point are:

- Free Parking at Antigua Estación de Autobuses (Avenida de Andalucía - 5 mins by walk to the meeting point)
- Free Parking at Lookout Point (Next to the Lookout point - 5 mins by walk to the meeting point)
- Parking at Calle Compañía (Compañía Street - 2 mins by walk to the meeting point - not free but not expensive either, something like €10 per day and it's and indoor parking lot)
