The Amsterdam Light Festival returns this year, in 2025, to the vibrant, multicultural northern European city with a special edition featuring more than twenty works of art that will illuminate Amsterdam's iconic canals.
Works dedicated to light, created by national and international artists. A festival that seeks to continue to demonstrate the great love of the city for art and its various expressions. A festival where colors become an explosion of magic that undoubtedly leaves its visitors in awe.
The theme of this festival 2025-2026, its 14th edition, is titled "Legacy", where artists explore what we leave to future generations.
The works explore questions such as:
do we want to be remembered and what legacy do we leave?
how do we see our future?
what do we leave for future generations?
This year, new artworks, created especially for the festival, float and hang in the canals.
