Overview
Discover Tirana in a whole new way: as night falls, the city doesn’t shut down; on the contrary, it comes alive. The heat of the day fades away, the terraces fill with voices and laughter, and the monuments are bathed in a warm light that reveals another side of the city.
And Tirana certainly has a story to tell. In just over 2 hours, we’ll walk through 1,500 years of history: from the Byzantine fortress that gave rise to the city, through Skanderbeg Square and its Ottoman legacy, to the Bllok, the once-forbidden neighborhood where dictator Enver Hoxha lived in secret. You’ll see the enigmatic Pyramid of Tirana and some of the hundreds of thousands of bunkers that still dot the country, and you’ll discover how this city managed to rise from the ashes of one of the 20th century’s most repressive dictatorships to become one of the most vibrant capitals in the Balkans today.
You’ll walk through a place that has been rebuilt time and again over the centuries, yet still stands tall. By the end of the night, you won’t just know Tirana—you’ll carry a little piece of it with you, wherever you go next.
