Stockholm Old Town Free Tour
Overview
The focus, however, will be on the Old Town, and we will walk the narrow and winding streets and try to understand how life was in the old days. I will provide a historical background and show interesting sights. We will see most of the things worth seeing in the Old Town.
At the end of the tour, we will leave The Old Town, and I will point out some other interesting buildings nearby. The tour will end at Norrbro, next to the Old Town, and from there you have a good view of Stockholm and the Royal Castle.
We will not be a huge group (maximum 15 adults and usually a lot fewer) as I prefer a more personal tour, so there will be time for questions and maybe some chit-chat. Hopefully, we will have a good time, and you will learn a thing or two. I love showing people my hometown, Stockholm, so I hope to see you soon.
This activity includes:
- The Royal Palace
- S:ta Gertrud, Tyska kyrkan
- Stortorget
- Storkyrkan
- Iron Boy - Boy watching the moon
- Royal Swedish Opera
- Stockholm's narrowest street (Mårten Trotzigs gränd)
- Prästgatan
On arrival
We meet at Skeppsbron Quay, which is close to where Slussbron (The Golden Bridge) starts. Take the stairs from Slussbron down to the Skeppsbron quay. I will be close to the water, showing a sign saying "Freetour Göran Eriksson." See you there!
Things to note
Good walking shoes will make the tour more enjoyable. The tour is approximately 4–5 kilometres long, but we will have short stops occasionally. The closest underground station to the meeting point is Slussen. If you liked the tour and want to give some tip, you are more than welcome to do so. (Kronor, Euro, Swish, not Paypal) I would also be pleased if you wrote a review of the tour. At Stadsmuseet (The Town Museum), located at Slussen, you will find toilets (if the museum is open). The museum is free of charge and worth a visit, E
