Stockholm Old Town Walking Tour with Poster Gift
Overview
We explore iconic spots like the Royal Palace and Stortorget and stop to talk about queens, kings, and bloodbaths. You’ll see the narrowest alley, the oldest door, and hear about the local woman who became queen for just 87 days.
Along the way, you'll spot a 1700s insurance system and learn about the current royal family and what it’s like living here today. We also make a short stop to warm up and taste something sweet at the traditional candy shop.
We are locals who live and work in the Old Town – we know its rhythm, layers, and secrets.
And yes – you’ll receive a poster made exclusively for our guests, photographed from the highest apartment in Gamla stan.

Our Guides
On arrival
Kindly arrive at the meeting point at least 5 minutes before the tour begins.
Slottsbacken 2 is easy to reach in the heart of Stockholm’s Old Town (Gamla Stan). From Gamla Stan metro station, it’s just a 7-minute walk. Follow the signs towards the Royal Palace (Kungliga Slottet), and you’ll find Slottsbacken street in front of the palace. The guide will meet you at the big door/Slottsbacken 2 opposite the Gustav III:s obelisk five minutes before the tour starts. If you are unable to locate your guide, kindly refer to photo number 2, which is clearly marked with “Meeting Point.”
Things to note
This is a pay-what-you-want tour. You choose your contribution at the end, and card payment is preferred. Most guests usually give between 20 and 40 euros per person, which helps cover taxes and platform fees, but it’s entirely up to you. We'll do our best to make sure you enjoy the tour!
We are happy to welcome all guests. Please keep in mind, however, that the Old Town’s cobblestones can make the walk quite demanding, and the tour is conducted at a fairly brisk pace. We kindly ask each participant to consider their own comfort and ability before joining. Our guides are always available to help, but please note that participation is at your own risk for safety reasons.
How can the tour be free?
Our concept is simple — there is no set price. Instead, you tip your guide at the end of the tour whatever amount feels right to you. Typically, guests give between $10 to €50, depending on their satisfaction and budget.
Most guides accept cash or card payments, or you can do it via our app.
Free Cancellation
You are free to cancel a booking anytime. We kindly remind you to cancel bookings you cannot arrive for. Being reported as absent decreases your customer level points and the benefits you can enjoy.
