Overview

Diocletian's Palace is one of the best-preserved examples of Roman architecture in the world. The tour will take you through the 1,700-year-old Diocletian's Palace, where people have continued to live for the past 13 centuries.

What will we visit?
The building’s basements
The Peristyle
The four gates
Main Square
Fruit Square
Republic Square

- You’ll discover why the emperor retired here, how he built the palace, how long he lived there, and where his tomb is located.

- You’ll have the opportunity to learn what happened on the outskirts of the palace when there was no place to live inside and how Split became the country’s second-most important city for tourism and its second-largest city.

We’ll start at the beginning of the promenade, in front of two information panels where we’ll get our bearings, and we’ll finish at the end of the promenade, known as RIVA.

Important notice:
A minimum of 4 people across two reservations is required for the tour to take place.
