The great number of tourists who visited Vitosha Nature Park are amazed at its inspiring landscape, diverse flora and rich fauna. The coniferous forests, as well as the subalpine meadows, are home to many interesting birds like Tengmalm’s Owl, Honey Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Black Woodpecker and etc.
Golden Bridges is located in the Vitosha Mountain and is the largest stone river in Bulgaria. The name comes from the golden color of the lichens that cover the huge stones.
The Boyana Waterfall is one of the few notorious but interesting places near Sofia. It is located in Vitosha Mountain and is the highest waterfall in the mountain. It is situated in the small river Boyana and is about 25 meters high. On a very clear day, some of the tall buildings of Sofia can see the sun-reflecting waters of the Boyana Falls.
