Overview
Yungay: Memory, Art, and Neighborhood
Murals, cités, museums, and stories of struggle, memory, and patrimonial beauty.
We start in the historic Quinta Normal Park, then we go into the heart of Barrio Yungay. We will cross the Gabriela Mistral Museum, which connects us with public education and pedagogical legacy. You will visit places like the Cité Las Palmas, the colorful Adriana Cousiño or the charming Pasaje Lucrecia Valdes. We will walk through the Plaza del Roto Chileno, visit the San Saturnino Church, and discover murals that tell stories of migration, feminism and popular memory.
We will walk through streets that were home to figures such as Rubén Darío and Violeta Parra, and we will even see the house of Gabriel Boric, the current president of Chile.
Finally, after visiting Plaza Brasil, we will arrive at the Concha y Toro neighborhood, with its curved streets of European inspiration, full of history, art, and bohemian life. We close the experience at S&S Bar, an authentic local bar to enjoy among neighbors, memories, and murals.
