Overview
The General Cemetery of Santiago is an open-air museum. Dare to visit the city of the dead!
We will visit the most important tombs and mausoleums in architectural and historical terms (Memorial of the Detained and Disappeared, Italian Mausoleum, Gothic mausoleums, exotic mausoleums, Green Chapel, Sculpture Courtyard, Yellow Chapel, Historic Courtyard, Dissidents' Courtyard, among others). We will be able to enjoy a very green tour, as it is full of trees and gardens. We will meet at the Metro station Cementerios (Recoleta) and walk to the southern sector of the cemetery (Avenida Zañartu) to finish the tour at the Metro station Hospitales (Independencia).
In addition to finding beautifully ornamented tombs, we will walk through some of its streets. An opportunity to connect with art, silence, and nostalgia in a kind and respectful way.
