Free Tour of the Vatican Surroundings
Overview
Our visit continues along the Passetto, an elevated corridor full of decisive episodes, and then we will enter the Borgo district, a network of streets that preserves the memory of pilgrims, artisans and travelers. In this environment we will analyze urban details, symbols and little obvious elements that help to interpret the daily life and beliefs of the past.
We will also visit the Church of Santa Maria in Traspontina before ending at the Vatican, discovering the origin of Via della Conciliazione and the historical evolution of St. Peter's Square and the Basilica as the closing of a tour full of history and urban transformation.
This activity includes:
- Castel Sant'Angelo
- Passetto di Borgo
- Basilica di San Giovanni Battista dei Fiorentini

- what is a free tour? Free comes from the concept "free", that is, it is an urban tour with qualified guides in which you are free to put the price you want to the tour once finished, depending on your degree of satisfaction and budget.
- Reservations for groups of more than 6 adults have to pay 8 euros per adult, and the maximum allowed is 3 children per adult.
- If your group is more than 6 adults, and you have made several reservations under different names, but all for the same group, you will have to pay 8 euros per adult. Otherwise, we will not be able to accept you on the tour and the guide may ask you to leave the tour.
- If you have any questions, please contact us.
How can the tour be free?
Our concept is simple — there is no set price. Instead, you tip your guide at the end of the tour whatever amount feels right to you. Typically, guests give between $10 to €50, depending on their satisfaction and budget.
Most guides accept cash or card payments, or you can do it via our app.
Free Cancellation
