Overview
We start in the Circus Maximus, mythical valley where legend places Romulus and Remus. This is the birthplace of pagan Rome and the destiny of an empire.
We ascend the Palatine (external), the hill where Augustus built the first imperial palace. The place where Rome ceased to be a dream and became absolute power.
We continue among the triumphal arches:
- Titus, which narrates the conquest of Jerusalem.
- Constantine, which announces the legalization of Christianity and the spiritual turn of the West.
We arrive at the Colosseum (external), built on the lagoon of the Domus Aurea. Vespasian transformed an imperial whim into the most famous arena in the world: blood, glory and propaganda.
A few steps away, the Ludus Magnus (external), the school where gladiators, heroes and legends were forged.
We close at San Clemente (external), with its hidden levels of pagan temples, Roman houses and the first steps of Christianity. The point where Rome changes gods and becomes the spiritual capital.
At the end, you can explore: gastronomic area, Domus Aurea, Colina Celio, Villa Celimontana, San Giovanni in Laterano, Scala Santa, San Stefano Rotondo, Santi Quattro Coronati, Arch of Dolabella.
