Overview
Riga is one of the oldest cities in the Baltics and possibly the most charming. It is generally little known to Spanish-speaking audiences. On this tour, we’ll get to know this special city better—a place steeped in history and legends, over which all the regional powers vied for control, from the Germans to the Russians to the Swedish crown, each leaving a mark that has blended with the unique culture of the Latvian people.
We’ll explore the Old Town, strolling through its most picturesque streets, seeing the most striking monuments, and learning about its history and legends. We’ll then head to the market to get a glimpse into the daily lives of Riga’s residents, discover some of the local specialties, and finally, take a look at the old Russian quarter and learn about the harrowing history of its Jewish ghetto.
This is a “free tour,” which means there is no set price for the tour. The idea is that the guide will do their best to provide an enjoyable and informative tour, and that at the end of the tour, you’ll acknowledge their efforts by contributing as much as you can so that the tour can continue to take place.
