On arrival
Meet inside the main entrance of The Forum on Millennium Plain, Norwich NR2 1TF. The Forum is the modern glass building opposite St Peter Mancroft Church, two minutes from Norwich Market and five minutes' walk from Norwich rail station.
Look for Tom holding a green map-pin flag with the Norwich Free Walking Tour logo. He'll be there 15 minutes before the start time.
By rail: Norwich station is a 10-minute walk. Cross Foundry Bridge, follow Prince of Wales Road, turn left onto Castle Meadow then right onto Davey Place. The Forum is straight ahead.
By car: Use the St Giles, Chapelfield or Castle Mall car parks (all 5 minutes' walk).
By bus: Castle Meadow and Theatre Street stops are both 3 minutes away.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the start time so we can set off promptly.
Things to note
- Free to book. Pay what you think the tour was worth at the end. Cash, card, Apple Pay or Google Pay all accepted. Most guests tip £15 to £20 per person. Pay less, pay more, or pay nothing. All are fine.
- Tour runs near-daily, rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.
- Maximum 15 guests per tour, so everyone can hear and ask questions.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes. About 2km of walking, mostly flat with some cobbled sections (Elm Hill in particular).
- The route is suitable for pushchairs and is mostly wheelchair-accessible, with one or two cobbled stretches that can be bumpy. Please message in advance if you have specific access needs.
- Children are welcome. Under 12s should be accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs are welcome on the lead.
- Toilets available at The Forum (start), Norwich Market and Norwich Cathedral (end).
- Tour is in English.
