Overview
1. Head to Nara First (from Osaka Station or Namba)
Take the JR Yamatoji Line or Kintetsu Line to Nara
The ride is about 35–45 minutes
2. Nara: Todaiji Temple & Nara Park
Visit Todaiji Temple, home to the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in Japan. Walk around Nara Park and interact with the friendly, free-roaming deer.
Optional: Quick stop at Kasuga Taisha Shrine (if you move fast)
Highlight: Feed the deer with “shika senbei” (deer crackers) and enjoy the peaceful scenery with ancient temple vibes.
3. Return to Osaka
Take the train back toward central Osaka
Grab a quick snack on the way if you’re hungry
4. Osaka Castle (Exterior Visit)
Head to Osaka Castle Park. Walk around the castle grounds and moat for photos; the exterior is gorgeous and iconic
Optional: If you have time and energy, go inside for the museum and panoramic views (but expect stairs or elevator lines)
5. Dotonbori District
Travel to Dotonbori in the Namba area. See the famous Glico Running Man sign, canal walk, and flashy neon signs.
End your tour in Namba, a great spot to shop, relax, or catch a train elsewhere.
