To understand Naples you have to live it, and the best way to enter Neapolitan culture is to delve into the alleys and eat with the locals. Our meeting begins near Metro Toledo with a guided tour of authentic alleys that until a few years ago were dangerous and forbidden, among streets laden with history, including the once forbidden and mysterious former red-light zone.
The tour continues in the Quartieri Spagnoli, where we will go for lunch in a "vascio" ("basso"), a typical working-class house on the ground floor facing the street, where a grandmother will prepare in front of you a very hearty typical Neapolitan lunch, consisting of a first course of pasta, two main courses, two side dishes, dessert and coffee. All-you-can-drink wine and soft drinks are of course included! As we eat lunch together, you will hear the stories of the family, the alley and the neighborhood. You will be able to hear the stories of the Neapolitan femminielli, the ancient votive shrines and the "munaciello," the benevolent spirit that still roams the old houses of the Quartieri Spagnoli! There will be no shortage of musical surprises to make your authentically Neapolitan moment memorable!

- A super hearty, freshly cooked lunch is included in the price, and the menu varies every day according to grandma's whims! There's at least one first course, two main courses, two vegetable side dishes, dessert, water, wine, coke, and lots of live music! Drinks are all included, too. We'll be happy to accommodate vegetarian or gluten-free food preferences, if you let us know in advance.
