Free Tour Alcazaba and Roman Theatre of Malaga
Overview
At the appointed time we will meet next to the Crystal Pyramid, from where we will start this free tour full of curiosities. We will descend to the best preserved Roman remains of Malaga to learn about the cultural life in the first century A.D. We will walk through the cavea and the original entrances of the theater to understand its architecture, its function and its relevance in Roman society.
We will then ascend the slope of Mount Gibralfaro to reach the Alcazaba, the Muslim fortress that has dominated the city for almost a thousand years. Its walls, courtyards and gardens will transport us to the Andalusian period, evoking the atmosphere of the great Nasrid palaces.
The tour will conclude at the viewpoints of the Alcazaba, a privileged enclave from which to contemplate the port, the historic center and the city skyline of Malaga. An essential experience to understand the historical soul of the city.
