Overview of the tour in Madrid

At dusk, when the sun sets over Madrid, specters from the past stretch like long shadows, veiling the city with stories of hatred and persecution. On this evening tour, a lantern will guide your way through the cobbled alleys and squares of the Madrid of the Habsburgs, passing by churches, monasteries, and places where jails and gallows once stood.

As you explore the most infamous corners of the city, you will learn gruesome historical facts and hear chilling ghost stories, told by the voice of an elegant narrator, who will also share the most intimate, atrocious, and untold aspects of the Spanish Inquisition, that Holy Tribunal that so often led to a knock at the door under the cover of darkness…

This tour does NOT include access to the interior of the sites visited. No “jump scare” actors; we rely on the professional storytelling skills of our guides.

On arrival

A few meters away from Plaza Mayor, you'll find the Plaza de la Provincia with a small fountain. Look for your Storyteller who will be wearing a Gothic outfit and carrying a lantern.
