Captura Madrid Tour: Discover Madrid & Learn How to Photograph It
Overview
This isn’t a conventional tour. It’s a journey through some of Madrid’s most photogenic spots, where history and photography go hand in hand. As we explore palaces, plazas, monuments, and surprising spots, you’ll learn about the stories, characters, legends, and interesting facts hidden behind them.
But you’ll also learn how to photograph them. In a simple and completely practical way, you’ll discover how to improve your photos by working on framing, composition, perspective, lighting, and point of view. At each stop, we’ll suggest different ways to photograph the location.
You can come with a DSLR, a point-and-shoot camera, or simply your cell phone. It doesn’t matter what equipment you have or how much you know. This tour is designed for anyone who wants to return from Madrid with better photos and get to know the city in a different way.
Our goal: We want you to look up the next time you’re walking through a city and start discovering photo opportunities where you once saw only buildings.

Our Guides
On arrival
We’ll be at the War Memorial at the Cuartel de la Montaña, between the two staircases leading up to the Temple of Debod. We’ll be waiting for you with our cameras.
Here are the different ways to get to our meeting point (Monument to the Fallen at the Cuartel de la Montaña):
- Metro: Plaza de España (lines 3 and 10) and Ventura Rodríguez (line 3)
- Bus: 1, 2, 3, 25, 39, 44, 46, 74, 75, 133, 138, 148, C1, and C2.
- Renfe: Príncipe Pío. BICIMAD: Station 115 (Evaristo San Miguel Street, between Paseo Pintor Rosales and Ferraz Street)
Things to note
Bring comfortable clothes and shoes (you might end up on the ground trying to get the best shot), a small bottle of water, and, of course, your cell phone or camera.
