Here's what our incredible Soweto Walking Tour entails:
1. Firstly, we meet atthe June 16 Memorial Acre to Learn about the June 16 Soweto Uprisings history. The Youth that was brave enough to fight against Afrikaans as a Medium of Instruction.
2. We catch a Local Taxi taking us to the Hector Pieterson Museum, the Young boy who died during the Protest. 15 Rands (ZAR) per Head for 5 Kilometres ride in a local taxi.
3. Go to Vilakazi Street. The only Street in the world that hosted two Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.
4. Go to Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela Soweto House, be prepared to pay the entrance fee if you are interested in going inside Nelson Mandela's house & see how he used to live before he became the South African President.
5. Then we end our Tour at AchBishop Desmond Tutu House, One of the Nobel Peace Prize winners from Soweto who promoted Peace and Forgiveness. No entrance fee needed.
You will also get good Local food recommendations if you are interested in tasting something Local.
