Overview
Soweto, established during the apartheid era, played a pivotal role in the fight for racial equality, with key events like the 1976 Soweto Uprising shaping South Africa's history.
Our tour begins at the Nelson Mandela House, a historic site where Mandela and his family lived from 1946-1962. We'll explore the neighborhood, visiting a local community outreach program where kids create art. Next, we head to the Hector Pieterson Memorial Museum, a moving tribute to the 12-year-old boy who became the first victim of the 1976 uprising.
Afterward we go The Soweto Towers are located within the decommissioned Orlando Power Station in Soweto, South Africa. They have been repurposed into an adrenaline-pumping adventure center, offering a variety of thrilling activities.
We'll then take local transport past Soccer City (FNB Stadium). Arriving at the Museum of Africa.
We’ll see vibrant street art and end the tour at the iconic Market Theatre, known as the “Theatre of Struggle.”
Join us for an unforgettable journey through the heart of Soweto's history!
