Tour of the Neighborhoods of Fener, Balat ed ed ed Eminönü
Overview
In Balat we will visit St. Stephen's Church of the Bulgarians, unique because it is made entirely of cast iron, and stroll among the neighborhood's famous colorful houses.
We will continue to Fener, where we will see the Greek Orthodox High School and the famous colorful staircase, perfect for unforgettable photos. We will also visit the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the spiritual center of the Orthodox world.
During the tour we will take a break at a local coffee shop, where it will be possible (optional, not included) to taste Turkish coffee.
Finally we will reach Eminönü to discover the Rüstem Paşa Mosque, famous for its Iznik ceramics, and the Balkapanı Hanı, an old Ottoman caravanserai.
We will end the tour by returning to where we started, amid the scents of the Spice Bazaar, talking about the historical ties between Istanbul and Venice.
The tour takes about 4 hours.

On arrival
We will meet at the T5 streetcar stop in Eminönü at the appointed time. From here, we will take a short streetcar ride along the Golden Horn to Balat.
Things to note
Do you want to discover the multicultural soul of Istanbul? On this tour of Fener, Balat ed and Eminönü, we will dive into a mosaic of colors and traditions ranging from Byzantine to Ottoman times.
Important: During the tour we will visit St. George's Church. Due to the church's recently introduced rules, short shorts, short skirts or low-cut clothing are not allowed to enter. Therefore, participants are advised to wear or bring appropriate clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
